  1. “dh, blue hill was on my mind this weekend too. Chatting about it while treading water and came home and made a res for next week!”

Sweet! Enjoy! Have you been up there before? Definitely a memorable experience. Funny – the fire alarm went off and the dining room had to be evacuated mid meal. It made for a very festive environment!

  2. Mostly fire eating and flying trapeze, Dona. It was a small little hokey outfit. My sisters were big time (older sisters are twins; for a few years they were one of the headline acts in a traveling Cirque du Soleil show). I was never big time. The circus I was in went around the country and put together shows with kids who signed up. I was part coach / part performer.

  3. yeah donatella,
I’ve seen them go over the banisters with
an electric wire brush for some time
    before painting.
it’s good you caught them on that shortcut
    they were taking.
the flakes of rust would have just peeled off
with time and left an irregular mess.

    speaking of metal paint,
I bought an antique butcher’s scale at a fleamarket
this weekend, it’s really cool with the flat surface on one side and the round analog scale which is visible
    on both sides.
weighs about 30 pounds and has a good antique off white patina.
I’m thinking of repainting the top of the scale bed since it’s rough with age.
Do you know if they can mix that Benjamin Moore metal paint to match?

  4. What did you do in the circus, lech? (You add this to Navy seal, lumberjack, lawyer…..interesting resume!!!!!)

Also, I find it worrisome about the PDA/internet addiction. I am a little worried about myself. I do much less reading these days…
