  1. >wait, is rf right? was lech giving advice on how to get out of jury duty recently? if so, plot thickens

God no…he thinks it’s a ‘civic duty’ but was upset by this poor diseased woman next to him.

  2. “besides with the internet, you can go anywhere you want without actually having to be there, so travel is essentially moot and pretty much only done for show and bragging rights these days.

    *rob*

Translation: I’m a broke and envious loser who never gets to go anywhere. So I compensate by attacking the concept of travel.

  3. Denton, I was shocked to hear that when I went up to the Buffalo region (where our Headquarters are), we had many many educated financial staff that made a decent living but have NEVER been outside of the Buffalo area and have absolutely no desire to go outside of it. Never even been to Toronto and that’s just a 2 hour drive.

  4. DCB, nothing is risk-free. not gold. not t-bill. not oil,…. for us non-professional investors, there’s no reason to jump in at all (ie cash pile eaten away by inflation is still lower risk then shoving hard into the mkt).

  5. >LAME! however after hearing what the chairs are made of i dont think id want to be on a jury duty anyway

Damned good thing lech is away, rob…I guess since it’s ok to call a female stranger a ‘bitch’ repeatedly, I can only imagine the epithets he’dve called you!

  6. rob, you can register to serve on a jury. Just go to the courthouse. You do not have to be registered to vote, but it’s one of the ‘sources’ the system uses to get people to serve, along with driver records (but you don’t drive either, I suppose). Thank goodness!
