  1. “ENY, again, it’s not about percentages. They pay more than anyone else in actual dollars.”

Right! They pay more because they are EQUIPPED to pay more, Dave. And they SHOULD pay more because they make MUCH, MUCH more!

Again, I don’t think too many wealthy folks are making a choice between feeding their kids and keeping the lights on. In a country with so much wealth, I think we can afford to look out a bit for those less fortunate.

  2. Seriously, BC… What definition of ‘socialism’ did you learn? And where did you learn it? (If I ever have kids, I want to know what school to avoid!)

Socialism — a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

  3. Snappy, it’s quite clear that he’s a religious fanatic and can’t separate those views from legal issues.

Also, he hasn’t answered any personal questions that I’ve asked him so that we may at least understand his cultural/religious issues. i suspect he’s also not married for whatever reason that may be and that he has had problems adopting children, or may have been adopted himself.

  4. BrooklynCouch, let me ask you, attorney to attorney:

We both went to law school. We read the same cases. We wrote the same briefs. I want to focus on the Equal Protection Clause, not religious or personal beliefs. Under the EPC, do you not believe that denying marriage to adult homosexual couples (not to children, not to goats, not to one’s Aunt Tilly) does not violate the EPC? If your answer is yes, upon what you base that (ie, case law – not religious or personal beliefs)?
