  1. Rob, when you don’t vote, it is not meaningful political activity; it is the abdication of political decision making to others. You make your own self powerless in the political process. Just sayin’

  2. Benson —
That’s a fair point… but is creation of new industries really the only way to judge? What about doing the *established* thing really well?! Or retooling the established thing to meet changing needs?

New and revolutionary is great and its exciting for venture capitalists… but I don’t know if it necessary equates to “positive” automatically. For example, the Dutch are still the world leaders in *cutting edge* ship building and water management/protection technology (dikes, levies, etc.) It’s not exactly exciting for the average person, but it’s VERY necessary for society.

  3. Yes, Pete. I saw that. Didn’t want to give your Shabab bad press and I responded. I am sure it was a different guy as you describe your trusted worker. They guy I met had a hustler manner. BTW, I don’t know if you saw the outcome to this story, but I am having the porch totally redone by the guy who did Dib’s porch and facade in Bed Sty. So far so good. But thanks for your info.

  4.
