What you market-driven, capitalistic-crazed, growth-at-any-cost, soak-the-poor guys ignore is something you may not even understand: quality of life. for the majority of people, not just the rich & super-rich. Europe is, and has been for about 50 years, a better, kinder, gentler place to live than here. Better health care. More vacation. Less cut-throat
And what did it get them?? Lower bond ratings, higher unemployment numbers and a weak currency.
tybur6, btw, the top solar firms are US or Chinese firms. deploymt of solar / green tech is more prevalent in Europe. I do agree innovation is innovation – regardless if via big established firm or startup.
>I’ll leave off by telling you that the company I work for, a well-known Japanese electronics giant, barely gives Europe a glance when it comes to looking for where the technology world is going
And I bet Europeans are quaking fearfully.

Less fat.
But all that means nothing to you since they didn’t invent Google or Youtube! Wow. Much as I am super-dependent on Google nowadays, I’d gladly trade it for a European-style social democratic state here. And happily pay more tax.
Rob, when you don’t vote, it is not meaningful political activity; it is the abdication of political decision making to others. You make your own self powerless in the political process. Just sayin’

If it weren’t for Abba, there’d be no Spice Girls. Abba and cuckoo clocks are Europe’s only real inventions
lol

Who’s stopping you?
Europe didn’t even invent pasta for god’s sake.

And of course, The Beatles.
“What about The Spice Girls?”
Hmmm, I will give them points for that.
A few days ago, 11217 called Sarah Palin “Bible Spice”. Now I gotta admit: THAT was funny!!
Gotta run, folks. See you around.
