  1. >Wait, Denton… PRE-MODERN? You mean the Europeans were trying to destroy the very fabric of humanity for hundreds (maybe thousands) of years?!

Now fer sure I ain’t moving there! 😉

  2. The scraped and nicks that DH mention could be an issue… Are the tenants upstairs? Fancy wooden banister? If not, the potential damage isn’t anything $6 of paint and spackle can’t fix in about an hour.

If you had a little under-stair spot or something like that, it would be nice. But not expected.

  3. donatella —
I think that’s reasonable. Plus, like you said, outside it will just get stolen and you’ll have to hear about that… and be forced to at least pretend to be sympathetic.

The fire folks don’t want them in the halls, so that’s the argument there.

I always walked my bike upstairs. It’s not a big deal. My new apartment has bike parking, but only because it also has a car garage. Saves me some space in my apartment, but if it happened to have been full… I would just bring it upstairs.

  4. BrooklynCouch, I don’t think you know much about the economy of Turkey. I am impressed enough to be going there to see first hand.

DIBS, no breakout yet, but looks like it will be to the upside. Probably will fill the gap on the chart.

    JB, I applaud you.

And to all the lawyers, the fees from gay divorces will buy some really nice brownstones.

  5. Donatella, tell them to bring it in their apt. there is nothing fuglier and destroys the streetscapes of brownstones than bikes tied up everywhere.

this 9is funny i was gonna take a pic of it i keep forgetting, ill do it today. someone has taken it upon themselves to chain up a TOY plastic toddler bike that could be no more than 5-10 poinds in the hallway in my building :-/ with a big chain and lock, it looks ridiculous

    *rob*

  6. Put your foot down, donatella. Although my tenants do not actually have bikes, i would not allow them to be chained to the fence in front. No way. I have room under the stoop where they could be stored. Also, my tenants are on the garden level and i told them that the entire space is theirs, just don’t clutter it up. They also have storage space in the basement. they have certainly been repectful of that and I would let them keep bikes there because I only use it to go to the cellar.

Besides, you said that you stated initially that there’s no storage area for bikes.
