donatella, bikes are pretty light these days and she shouldn’t have any trouble carrying it up the stairs without scuffing the walls. Depends on what type of person she is.
“The Board puts NO CONTROL on what folks put on their front and rear balconies (the latter faces an interior courtyard). We have alot of kids in my complex and the junk is piled up: bikes, stroller, etc. It looks so damn unkempt.”
that blows. my building had a rider in the lease that you can’t put anything out there besides a small table and chairs. nothing tackier than someone using their balcony as storage space.

cmu, nobody wants a bike chained to their nice wrought iron fence, especially after they’ve just spent a ton of money to gussy up the front stoop and garden area like donatella has just done.
exactly! it is NO different than front yards with cars on top of cinderblocks!!! which is kinda funny considering how many people in nyc these days look like literal hillbillies.
As discussed yesterday, I generally like my condo. However, if I had my way, I’d move out tomorrow. The reason? The Board puts NO CONTROL on what folks put on their front and rear balconies (the latter faces an interior courtyard). We have alot of kids in my complex and the junk is piled up: bikes, stroller, etc. It looks so damn unkempt.
The next time I move, I will either: a)go into a condo with no baclonies or b) move into one where they control what people put on their balconies. There is such a condo near me on President St.
Did someone mention cluttered balconies….

rob’s right, cars on cinderblocks or white goods (old washing machine) on the front lawn.
You might as well make one of those planters out of a tire rim and a tire cut in a scalloped pattern to look like leaves.
