I thought jester was talking about disadvantage kids who had never been exposed to the work environment – even basic things such as dress code, being on time. It’s great if an intro to the labor field opens their eyes as well as doors.
also, despite what some people may think, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with letting your inner welfare queen shine! as long as you dont do it for the rest of your life!
JB, if you think Rob is only good enough for his current gig, you selling him way short. I’ve said it to him many times during gatherings that he’s a smart dude and if he wants to get paid more, do something different, etc. he can do it – just a matter of does he want it enough. Rob is happy with his current situation and that’s his choice. but he shouldnt moan about others trying to better themselves as that’s their choice to chase vs Rob prefer status quo
cobble, benson — this conversation is really in response, sort of, to the Haiti donation and rob’s comment and not, I think, to the actual interns under jester’s fine tutelage. I think. Anyway, jester’s interns are definitely trying to take a real step forward through the internship, and kudos to jester for some encouraging words.

“Oh, great, so now Slopefarm is a racist, too. ;)”
Oh, of course, should’ve guessed Slopey was, as usual, the source of all the trouble and commotion.

Ditto what Slopefarm just said.

I’m in total agreement with M4L. (perhaps shocking, but true.) : )
Word, M4L, point taken. Forgot how hardworking you Chinamen are 😉
