ugh rude person in the elevator pounding away on their iphone sneezes, and two people loudly said bless you! and she didnt even look up or say thank you. im never blessing anyone ever again!

and i sent a note to the person who hands out our paychecks if we can get them anytime before 5 instead of the usual 530 and that if she handed them out before 5 i will buy her a cup of coffee (the reason is my bank closes at 5) and them im forced to go ghetto and go to a check cashing place. of course my email was totally ignored.

is it just me or is the world getting meaner and ruder by the day?

Mohonk is great. Pricey though.

I spent a couple of days at “The Rhinecliff” in Rhinecliff (right on the river near Rhinebeck) a couple of weeks ago. Very relaxing and much cheaper than Mohonk.

I used to go to Mohonk, when it was teetering on the verge of bankrupcy in the 80s. It was super cheap and they still had all those special weekends. There was a German lady Ida and she would take groups pre-dawn for hikes through the woods to get to the very top (Skytop) just as the sun came up. Then she would give us a swig of Schnapps. You know you would never have anything like that now – walking on the rocks in the dark with the guide swigging booze out of a flask.

I hadn’t been there for a while and went last summer to celebrate BF’s birthday. It is really expensive to stay there now, but you can go on the grounds to hike for not too much dough. It is so beautiful up there. I love it.
I heard that Minnewaska was nice too, but never hiked on those trails.
