  1. “then NYPost will have headline on how pol disrespected this or that group”

    Well, to be fair, if the mayor or other politicos said they weren’t going to ANY parade, it wouldn’t be a problem. But it’s ingrained in NYC culture, people like to ‘have their day’ in the sun, and why not celebrate the many kinds of people we have here?! It’s part of what makes NYC so awesome! I don’t go because I don’t like big crowds like that, they scare me, but I like that they have them for the people that like to take part in/view them.

  2. i totally agree benson. most of the parades now are just excuses for violence. and the gay parade is just an excuse to get as f*cked up as possible and take as many loads up your butt as possible. gross.

  3. if they don’t march – then NYPost will have headline on how pol disrespected this or that group — and will have quotes from individuals saying how horrible a thing to do.
    They are stuck having to do this nonsense. Just like giving more and more suspended alternate side parking days.

  4. Cobblehiller;

    I didn’t say that these parades should be stopped. I just said that I would appreciate a mayoral candiate and other politicians who would stop marching in them.

    Hey, if those parades are your idea of fun, go for it.
