“A heavy-metal purist, Mr. Dio was known as much for his vocal prowess as for his Mephistophelean stage persona. He sang about devils, defiance and the glory of rock ’n’ roll with a strong, mean voice that rose to a bombastic vibrato, and he is credited with popularizing the “devil horn†hand gesture — index and pinky fingers up, everything else clenched in a fist — as a symbol of metal’s occult-like worship of everything scary and heavy.”
Hey Legion —
You still don’t get it do you?! Do you really think I’m an apologist for Islamists or Islamic Fundamentalists or Islamic Extremists or whatever term you would like to use!?!
All of you examples have NOTHING to do with the vast majority of Muslims that want to live and be happy in this country that we share!
EVERYTHING you say above is conflating Muslim and Terrorist. If you are Muslim, you are a Islamist and are probably out to destroy us. Can you not get it through your thick head the difference?!
Who suggested we should capitulate and not be vigilant about militancy and other forms of intolerant extremism?! If a group is building a mosque and community center in an area of great symbolic import IN ORDER TO build understanding and to show that Muslims can live in America peacefully… and the extremism of the Taliban and Al Qaeda is actually detrimental… why shouldn’t this be supported?
Your laundry list of despicable acts has no bearing at all on whether or not an effing mosque is built downtown. None.
ENY:
true true – but again it’s a “bigger picture” issue. Kids emulate what’s in style based off of teen pop stars and take cues from young adults as well whether on TV/Music or on the street
it’s up to the parent to be the first line of defense of what their kid is wearing outside
Halal food is pretty good. Do you think that’s why many prisoners convert? Just like some people say they’re Jewish in order to get a kosher meal on airplanes (ok, I mean back in the day when airplanes served meals).
Yes, legion, and when the group building the mosque on private land near ground zero starts accumulating explosives, you can call them Islamist, too. I still don’t see how the community board was capitulating to anything.
Denton,
Is there a reason in particular that prisoners shouldn’t have their dietary requirements respected? Should breakfast be all bacon?
Legion, my condolences:

Not to nitpick. But what is ‘Halal’ food? I think you’re using the wrong term.

m4l, we already had the spot…it was the work that was being done for Butternut that got damaged as well.
