jester,
yeah, sad news,
Dio was with Black Sabbath before Ozzy
and really influenced alot of bands.
mrs.legion is the former metal queen however.
tybur6,
again, I understand full well the distinction between the calm and peaceful followers of religion and those that are radicalized.
let’s not beat a dead horse.
My argument is this;
recognize the threat and don’t allow an inch in terms of
accomodation since we don’t exactly know who is or isn’t radicalized. When the muslim/islamic world can function peacefully with the rest of the world, I’ll think differently.
as it stands, they continue to war with
Bhuddists
Hindus
Christians
Jews
Muslims
there isn’t exactly a widespread movement in muslim countries to eliminate the militancy.
in fact, it seems to be spreading.
you argue that we can continue to function in a vacum of sorts.
this is a prescription for defeat.
perhaps you like the burka, I for one don’t.
simple as that.
Legion —
The placement of the mosque is only “insensitive” because you (and many others) have EQUATED all of Muslims with the terrorists and Islamist extremists.
To use your example of Dachau… The Nazis were Christians. Is it “insensitive” that there are Christian chapels on the grounds of Dachau?
“it’s up to the parent to be the first line of defense of what their kid is wearing outside”
Agreed.
“Dangerous assumption to make about pedophilia, ENY.”
Yeah, you’re right about that, but I don’t just mean in that area. There are MYRIAD ways that I am happier to have had a boy than a girl, not that I would have been disappointed to have had a girl. At the least, having a male child just goes to show how completely macho I really am.
“but sometimes it seems quite clear here that posters
lose the forest through the trees.”
Pardon me for interrupting a perfectly good free for all, Legion, but I believe I was the one who made that very point during last week’s extensive and heated logging discussion.
You missed the point of the entire argument slopefarm,
I even stated that I wouldn’t have a problem with the mosque anywhere else in the city, never have had a problem.
but the insensitivity to site is undeniable and in my view outright.
did you take the time to look up that term I posted earlier about deception of non-believers?

“Not to nitpick. But what is ‘Halal’ food? I think you’re using the wrong term.”
No, I meant halal, just like I could say I like kosher food (if that was true).
“Denton, Is there a reason in particular that prisoners shouldn’t have their dietary requirements respected? Should breakfast be all bacon? ”
How about cost? And yes, breakfast should be all bacon.
ET, are you lecturing people about food? lol…

“But what is ‘Halal’ food?”
I know what ‘Halal’ means.
I meant, how are YOU defining ‘Halal’ food?
