it SHOULD BE considering how many smashed brains constantly need to be scooped up and cleaned on a daily basis in this city!
oh and dont even get me started on parents who ride their BABIES in a baby seat on the back of a bike in TRAFFIC. morons. that should be considered a form of child abuse!! well not really, but honestly i cringe when i see babies on the back of bikes in traffic!!
Benson, so many times I’ve had to swerve or slam on my brakes to avoid a cyclist cause they ran a red light.
Gee, a car is 2,000 pounds, their bike is what 50 pounds (?). You would think they’d adhere to the rules of the road if they’re going to be on them….for their own safety!
im in triple agreeance with everything et said about bikes and how they should pay their fair pear too!! also they should have to have bike licenses to drive on the street. money maker for the city right there!!! im not against people riding bikes, just that they should pay for it in large bustling cities, especially when they are very dangerous. i cant tell you how many times ive almost been hit by bikes on the street (yeah yeah i know you cant even begin to say how many times youve been hit by cars on the street..) point being both are dangerous and both take up resources. i feel the same way about large umbrellas and bugaboos. tax them as well as make them need a license.
“it’s not illegal to ride without a helmet.”
Should be!!
A cyclists not wearing a helmet, runs a red light, gets hit by a car…damage done.
Why a cyclists in NYC wouldn’t wear a helmet is just not a rational thought.
Hating in cyclists is just a thinly veiled version of cane wagging.
Why should cyclists have to pay to ride?
EVERYBODY pays taxes to maintain infrastructure that only a small % of people who can afford to own cars can use.
I pay taxes so YOU can drive. Why should I have to pay to ride my bike?

“Not when so many douchebags run right through the redlight. Sorry, no compassion. Too many of them don’t follow the rules.”
Wrong – I would say the % of car drivers who speed is much higher than the % of cyclists who run red lights.
