  1. and ALL of those food by the pound places are RIP OFFS! RIP OFFS! a teeny tiny sliver of lasagna winds up ringing up to almost 6 bux? please.

or maybe everything seems more of a rip off to me these days cuz i havent had a raise in like 2-3 years!

  2. *rob* like rant of the day!!!! it’s a long one ! so yesterday i was food shopping at low rent ASSOCIATED and i realized i had to pick up some laundry detergent cuz ive been scrubbin’ it off my roommate for like ever now, and that’s not right, so i decided to buy a bottle. UGH! the prices of laundry detergent are ABSURD! and you know WHY they are absurd? because THEY ARE SELLING A BOTTLES OF LAUNDRY DETERGENT THAT ARE GREEN AND NATURAL AND ALL THAT MARKETING BULLCRAP FOR 26 F’ING DOLLARS. THAT’S RIGHT TWENTY-SIX DOLLARS FOR A BOTTLE OF LAUNDRY DETERGENT! because idiots are willing to pay those bogus inflated prices for nothing but phoney marketing tactics, the prices of regular detergents have sky rocketed!!!! like the plain old brand All which is decent, changes the color of the bottle from Blue to White and slaps on the words natural and green and triples the price!

the same thing is going on with food products! this whole organic and green movement has to either stop or be regulated by the FDA because it’s artificially inflating the prices of EVERYTHING! there’s a small segment of the population with too much money to spend putting downard pressure on regular folks who are budget conscious! also millions of young people are being duped out of their hard earned cash thinking they are being good enviro-conscious citizens, when in fact they are just falling for marketing BS.

and yesterday im throwing out my trash and recycling and the super points to three doggy doodoo bags in the courtyard spread all over the ground. he said that in the last week someone has been throwing out their dogs poop in bags OUT THEIR WINDOW INTO THE COURTYARD! he made me laugh when he said in his russian accent, this is park slope not the bronx! lol. meanwhile im throwing out my 40 ounce bottles and wanted to be like well it’s sorta like the bronx, but i was too disgusted to think who could be doing this. he said there is security cameras around, he pointed to them all in the courtyard but they still dont know who is doing it. i dont think it’s being flung from another building because it’s an enclosed couryard 5 stories high on all sides of the same building, so it’s coming from someone in the building, which is weird cuz i cant think of a single person in the building who would do such a thing. then it occurred to me, i wonder if he saw me on the security camera when i replaced my broken swiffer wet mop with the building’s one that worked in the courtyard.

  3. Biff, Smiler’s is a chain with salad, hot food, and cold food bars all over the City.

There’s also a very large, always mobbed deli that caters to a lot of businesses and tourists on the SW corner of 48th & Lex, but I can’t remember the name. They have traditional salad bar as well as all sorts of hot foods and a sushi bar.

  4. Biff, there is a really good one on Broadway right across from City Hall. Forgot the name but it has a very nice salad bar and actually a live piano player there during lunch. I used to go there all the time when I worked in Wall Street area.

There are a bunch by me too. One on 5th between 22nd and 23rd. One on 18th street between 5th and 6th. There is also City bakery on 18th that has a smaller selection but all high end and they charge ridiculous amount of money by pound.
