  1. And what is our President’s response to Arizona’s insistence on protecting it’s citizens?

He plays the political game assuming Hispanics vote in block. Not gonna happen. We see through this ploy.
I’m not anti-illegal, I’m pro-legal immigration and I know plenty of people who have family waiting in line around the world.

Our President actually deigns to argue that Arizona was once part of another territory,
Hell, why not just give the west back to France and Alaska back to Russia and the whole southwest back to Mexico and Spain and call it all even. Ridiculous posturing.

  2. Rob, read Kitchen Confidential. A lot of the kitchen help makes well above minimum wage. My friend who has a bar/lounge with food has a chef who makes well over 100K a year but he does work very long hours each day though (not sure if he is legal or illegal). The point that Bourdain make in the book is that he would never hire an Asshat chef from a culinary school cause those tend to bitch and complain while the Latin kitchen help always works hard and never complain about treated badly or called “stupid” if they did something stupid in the kitchen. He said he tried to work with a asshat chef before and when he called him a moron for messing something up, the dude through a hissy fit. This never happened with his Guatemalan and Mexican kitchen help.

  3. I don’t have health insurance. I still don’t know the bottom line of what I have paid and will continue paying out for my accident, but I do know that I am so fortunate that I am able to afford that bottom line. I have often thought about what the consequences would be if I couldn’t afford it, and I’m sure that I would have gotten the least amount of emergency care and I could probably look forward to a life in a wheelchair. That’s just wrong on so many levels. No one should have to lose a leg, or god forbid, a life because they can’t afford treatment. Healthcare should be a basic fundamental right.

Arkady I’m sorry you had to experience cancer, and am so glad you pulled through.

  4. Arizona?

The governor is doing the right thing.
the narco-trade is out of hand at the border,
people are crossing the border with impunity and with arms.
    Americans are getting killed.

If the Federal government did its job in protecting the American citizens of Arizona, including Hispanic Americans, I know, I have family there,
The governor wouldn’t have to be enacting a law to protect the citizens.
Many of the illegal immigrants are convicted felons in Mexico and/or in the USA.
We have a right to protect our borders just as Mexico does its southern borders (and very heavily indeed).

The solution for Mexico is for its citizenry to rise up and have a revolution. There is much wealth in Mexico, it’s just concentrated in the upper classes (100 families).
