Often times one’s motives and their arguments are inextricably linked. Take for example the corrupt Albany officials who are in the unions’ pockets that you speak of. Of course they will say “The unions have a valid point on x, y or z.” Considering their motives (maintaining that voting block, campaign contributions, etc.) do you not question the merits of their arguments? Politics and OT discussions ain’t always pretty.
