…..let’s do a thought experiment. Imagine if we were having some discussion and someone of obviously modest means made a point. Imagine if someone then responded with a comment to the effect that his or her opinion is not valid because they have modest means. I imagine that you and other folks would find this situation outrageous, and rightfully so. Why then, is it OK if the shoe’s on the other foot?
Why do folks try to discount DIBS’ opinion because of his income level and/or profession?
As Lech has previously pointed out, it is troubling that some discussions here devolve into questioning an opponent’s motives, rather than the merits of their argument.
