Weren’t all of you complaining just this morning about all the taxpayer dollars and subsidies and backroom deals that ratner got and how he was screwing New Yorkers??
Ratner is the only winner here. DG made some chump change, about $200,000 a year (after the taxes on this) over the 7 years of his fight.
Ratner got everything he wanted just not on schedule.

I didn’t believe he was doing anything more than what he was. I never called him a hero- it was the pro-AY folk who decided this was the case.I don’t question his motives. He has a wife and kid-I’m glad he stuck it out. Most anti-AYers will probably just thank him and understand. If he were only in it for the money he would have given up long ago.
I hardly think DG did it all just out of spite. Why would anyone do that? Just because his motives seem inscrutable doesn’t make them nonexistent or contemptible. Enough gets left out of the story that at a certain point it goes from a textbook case to a narrative we just have no part in.
My point, if it wasn’t clear, is not about “W” — it’s about those that see “W” as “integral.” It’s reflects on the resident, not the doorman.
