  1. We were in the middle of breakfast in a motel somewhere near Memphis when a young black couple walked in. As they did, my daughter, who had been pointing at the fruit loops and repeatedly asking for a bowl in lieu of the cheerios I had poured her, put her hands on her hips and yelled “daddy, why do you always make us eat the white cereal? I want to eat the colored cereal!” I turned red and explained to the nice couple that “colored cereal” referred to the fruit loops, which my daughter was comparing to white cheerios.

  2. Sorry I missed the party last night. Have been on the road again. Places I have been to in the past week:

    1. Washington DC (just to visit friends, didn’t see museums or anything)

    2. Monticello (highly reccomend)

    3. Blue Ridge Parkway (epic fail – road blocked in multiple places due to rock slides, massive storm damage, etc. – drove maybe 50 miles total out of about 400 miles of parkway).

    4. Boone, NC – best brunch I have ever had. Ever. Summoned owner and told her she does a better brunch than anyone in New York City. She was pleased.

    5. Asheville, NC – OK, cute enough, but Boone was better.

    6. Chattanooga – AWESOME city for kids. Stayed in the old train station, which has been turned into the “Chattanooga Choo Choo” hotel. Slept in rail car turned into hotel room. Best kids museum I have ever seMemphen. Even better aquarium.

    7. Birmingham, just to see the Civil Rights Museum. Very moving. Had to bite lip so the Mrs and the kids wouldn’t think I am a big sissie when they see a tear in the corner of my eye.

    8. Memphis. Beautiful walk along the banks of the Mississippi. Went to Graceland. I never got the whole Elvis thing. Now I think I at least understand, if not appreciate.

    9. Ozarks.

    10. Kansas City.

I figure I will have seen over 30 states in the first 4 months of the year alone.

  3. “uh-oh. Tybur6 is gonna get disinvited to the 22nd and cgar gonna throw tacks on the bike paths of brooklyn.”

Nah. I have nothing but love for Ty. (No homo) He knows that. (Though I am still going to throw tacks in his path.)

  4. *Rob* – that was JESTER! Not me! I have a COUPLE of these so-called “blase liberal arts degrees”!! Not English or Anthropology of course…. anyone who gets one of those degrees is a dumb ass. 🙂
