Tax increases for healthcare are a bad idea. Taxes in Canada are similar to NY / MA / CA and in the UK they are lower. Both already have universal healthcare, albeit more rationed than would be the case in the US. Points to massive inefficiencies somewhere in the US that no-one seems that serious about addressing.
