rob, was that ‘doctor’ a woman, who doesn’t say a word thru the exam and looks terminally bored? If so, I’d agree I had doubts too. Maybe I should get my eyes re-examined.
Also, agree with your landlords post. I’ve always charged slightly below market and rarely had a problem. I say you get the tenants you deserve ;).
As long as prostitution runs rampant throughout BoCoCa, there will be need for practicing lawyers. This is a victimless crime but NYC needs the money so the sweeps will continue.
Any idea how many “lurkers” are out there?
just wondering cause yesterday

JB, I’m admitted in 4 jurisdictions, 2 of which allow me to register as inactive and pay reduced dues, while the other 2 (NY included) allow you to check a box stating that you’re not practicing (or something to that effect), so you’re exempt from CLE (until you actively begin practicing again, if ever), but you still have to pay your dues in full to remain a member in good standing. So I pay my dues in full. Let’s face it – all they really want is the money.
M4L: I don’t have enough experience to go in-house. One day it will probably make sense but most of those jobs seem way to boring (sorry CGar). Once the law school loans are paid off, things will look a lot different.

JB, those boring gigs pay more unless you’re “up there” in rank at your law firm. more pay + cushy hrs = optimal for a girl looking to enjoy life

Legion, considering how many hits Mr. B gets, There are A LOT OF lurkers. I am willing to bet that OT doesn’t have many but there are some.
CGar, thanks for the response, I appreciate it. Sorry I called your work boring.
