I agree with Denton in regards to the internet fostering communities, though I do think that this community in particular is rare in it’s acceptance of people from all socioeconomics, races, etc.
With the exception of occasional blogacides, it seems that most people can have heated debates and still gather for drinks as friends. That’s pretty special in the blogosphere.
