What are you giving back rob? You disdain voting. That’s like whining someone’s stealing your wallet while you’re handing it to them. You want change- do something about it. That’s why we elected Obama. All you do is complain about issues with no responsibility.
Legion, perhaps the idea regarding the insurance was in reaction to the fact that there are an awful lot of little Johnny and Janes out there who can’t get jobs that have health insurance right out of college, or any kind of school. Perhaps it will cost less, in the long run, for J and J to stay on their parent’s roster than for them to be running to already overcrowded emergency rooms, which cost us more in tax dollars. Perhaps the kinds of illnesses and medical costs that twenty somethings often get, like car and other accident injuries, personal injuries from sports, sexually transmitted diseases, alchohol and drug related medical care, even pre-natal care, etc, are the kinds of things that insurance already in place can better cover.
Instead of a kneejerk Republican reaction, you, as someone in the health care field, should be able to see the benefits of existing insurance covering this group. Your statement also takes the individual person out of the equation. If Johnny gets a good job, with good benefits, he will get off his parent’s plan, and be on his own. As the enconomy gets better, hopefully those kinds of jobs will come back. The health of the general economy is as equally tied to health insurance. Perhaps if people like John Boehner put more effort into thinking about the big picture, there’d be less nit picking and more big thinking. The health care bill is not perfect, but it’s better than the status quo, which is doing nothing.
wasder- I am watching. I so wish they would caption video on the web. Can’t understand a single word 🙁
Biff, if you ever decide to take the wee ones to Chuck E. Cheese, I wanna be invited!
