interesting denton.. there are lots of benefits that married people get that single people dont get, some of them are justifiable, but not stupid crap like reduced admission to movies and zoos and stuff!!
Actually, rob, I could be a devil’s advocate on the married/insurance thing, and agree with you.
Health insurance was designed, like many other bennies, to benefit the old style 1950s nuclear family. IOW, Daddy went to work, Mommie stayed home with the 2.2 kids. Naturally it was in society’s interest to protect the family.
As this arrangement is less common that it used to be, with more women working than men, it could be questioned whether ‘family coverage’ is still relevant.
The fair answer, and the one that exists in every advanced society, and beginning here, is simply to cover everyone equally, regardless of marital status.
Take bennies out of the equation, and there will be less grousing about gay marriage and other partnership arrangements, since both partners will have equal health benefits.
I once broke up a fight in a NYC public high school, when I was visiting there on business. South Shore.
Dave,
I think it’s byob. They have soft drinks listed on the menu. But call them for any real information!

Rob, you just took away my QOTD award.
“I heard Rob also hates little old ladies, apple pie, baseball, puppies, Patch Adams, sunsets and parades.”
But he’s in favor of pet health insurance!
I think that was yuppies not puppies, lol
Cgar- it’s just that I am stubborn. It becomes a Jew vs EVLL nun kinda thing 🙂

I was GOING to say gay people too, but just figured I’d stop at unwed mothers. Let’s face it – I could have made that list a LOT longer.
