  1. they (repubs) were hoping for Dan Senor (a Utican-American) but he declined. Too much real money to be made.
Frankly at this point in political time, intelligence of the person doesn’t matter…because they all vote lock-step together by party or face execution. But personality, history, looks of person do matter on getting elected…everyone wants to vote for most likeable. Kinda like popularity contest in HS.

  2. Hey dibs, what do you think about a comment like the below when I keep hearing that up to 80% of volume these days is flash-trading?

“Burt White, chief investment officer for LPL Financial in Boston, said growing confidence in the economy is deserved but that stocks have been rising too quickly in the past two months on light trading volume. That signals that relatively few traders have been generating the gains.”

  3. The 7-room, 3-bdrm at 1 Pierrepont (recent CotD) just got chopped $500K to $4M. Just in case that was holding you back.

I’ll have a bidding war with you when it gets another 7 such chops. I must warn you though, I will be going over ASK at that time

  4. “The PLUSAS will take up a collection starting right now. certain members (11217, denton, etc) will match all donations.”

I’ll foot an entire one way bus ticket! (That would def be the right way to get to Detroit).

My parents come from there, btw and they couldn’t wait to get out.

  5. Legion, I’ve never actually met her. Used to see her mother a lot more when we were young.

Her grandmother ran all of upstate New York politically (including bossing around any downstate republicans) for many years in the 50s, 60s, 70s and into the 80s as Mayor Erastus Corning’s “confidant.” Polly Noonan.
