Wild, Legion! I had that one winter – a falcon was using my feeders as a buffet – but I never got pix of it. Took the feeders down for a few weeks when I twigged what was going on.
eny,
what’s that movie with Ben Stiller where’s he’s playing basketball and everyone’s sweating up a storm and then this super hairy dude who’s dripping with stink takes a jump shot only to come down against Stiller’s face in slow motion as the slime scrapes off all over his frown.
arkady,
Last year, I was able to videotape what looks like a perigrine falcon enjoying the meal of a pigeon it just caught. I saw the falcon swoop in and catch the pigeon, but was only able to video the part where the predator was de-feathering and eating it’s prey. maybe I’ll put it on youtube.
Ever been stuck in a subway car in the summer without working AC and a fragrant passenger. OMG. He smelled like he died 8 months before- I thought I would be sick. Everyone in the car was a lovely shade of green.
Asafoetida is a plant from the Apiaceae family, which includes carrots, parsley, dill, celery, caraway, fennel, and lovage. Most similar in appearance to fennel, asafoetida smells like rotting feet, which causes many cooks to feel nervous about using the herb. In fact, some countries refer to asafoetida as Devil’s Dung because of the foul smell
Rumors that Starbucks is going to buy Jamba juice.
Hence the word “foetid” or “fetid.”
There’s some stone that comes out of Ireland that’s just crammed with fossilized shells. Can’t remember the name. Used for counters.
