  1. I said that the republican party started their dogmatic rightward path starting with Goldwater and worsening under Reagan years. He himself was not as dogmatic/fanatical as the powers and people that have taken over and control the republican agenda/dialog now.

    Pete,

    and yet the current situation in this very state belies that idea;
    If you haven’t heard, the Republican party in New York is set to run a Democrat who just crossed over for fiscal concers, against Cuomo.
    They are set to nominate Steve Levy (D) Suffolk county , who is running on opposition to fellow democratic fiscal irresponsibility.

  2. wasder,
    agreed, the midterm elections normally go in favor of the opposing party,
    but my statement about the majority of americans being against this particular bill stand,
    the majority of Americans are naturally against 300 million dollar kickbacks, carve out’s for party supporters and bills which garner ZERO opposing support.

    in the end, President Obama’s mistake is that he can take a Center-Right nation and swing it Left in 1 year.
    He is asking too much and reaching too far while he has a House/Senate majority, Americans see this and don’t like it instinctually.

  4. bxgrl,
    it is clear from your posts that you simply cannot get away from Bush,
    you simply see this as “payback” time for your perception of the Bush years.

    if that’s the case, you are sorely mistaken for you cannot run a party on payback. It will cost dearly in the end. losing sight of fiscal reality will only lead to ruin.
