Speaking of no homo, when I was walking around the Castro in SF yesterday afternoon (with a lesbian friend) I commented that it is basically a gay theme park. It’s not just a nice neighborhood where everyone happens to be gay. All of the shops and restaurants and residents seem to be aggressively trying to out-gay each other. Sort of like a photo-negative of a town in the deep country where everyone goes much too far out of their way to show how macho they are.

We were well underage, but since it was Billy Beer (brewed by and named after the President’s brother Billy) they sold it to us as a novelty.
