  1. Legion, in case you missed it, both houses passed a comprehensive health care bill, the Senate with 60 votes. They are dealing with how to resolve the differences, not enacting law from scratch at this point. Nothing is irreversible and the voters will hve their say in November 2010 and 2012. Separation of Powers in the constitution protects internal legislative rules, whether it is the insistence that every bill pass the senate with 60 votes (as opposed to majority rules) or the parliamentary maneuvering you complain about.

You’ve argued eloquently against the merits of the plan itself many times (although I, of course, disagree with much of what you wrote). But I do not see this as rising to a constitutional level.

  2. I was wondering what happened to Minard but saw him comment today on Water St.
(am I really supposed to take seriously, after 8 years of cheney and co. , that now you are worried about constitution?)

  3. compare Nixon erasing personal tapes of his conversations in the Oval Office
    to
this administration’s outright disregard for Constitutional procedure.

    At least Nixon resigned.

This administration seems to feel entitled to forge ahead at any cost, their own members of congress be damned.

and where is the Press in all this?

front cover of New York dailies today?

a hollywood sex scandal. bread and circus for the masses,
    while the Republic is undermined.
