“why am i an ass because i think they should pay taxes? youre a hypocrite.”
Go pick on someone that needs picking on like the huge corporations that get absurd tax cuts here, instead of nannies who make LESS than you do, for crying out loud.
You spend so much time feeling sorry for yourself and picking on nannies, it’s absurd. Go get some self-esteem and figure it out.
the President will have to understand that despite his own ideology and personal feelings about the role of government in American society;
he will not get away with passing one of the largest, most important bills in history without respect for the will of the people and without regard for the proper spirit of the Constitution when it comes to making laws.
and by spirit, I mean the idea that the Senate is a deliberative body, as Washington said, it is the saucer beneath the tempestous cup. The idea of checks and balances.
legion- I think we will see a lot of constitutional fallout in the coming years over what Bush and cohorts did, especially under Homeland Security. I also posted a link to an article about the facts regarding the passage of the Health Care bill and the CBO’s assessment. Somehow I give them more credibility than the “facts” you get from Faux News.
I agree with what slopefarm says- and wonder why you would focus so much on Sotomayer? If the decision to treat corporations as individuals when it comes to political donations doesn’t scare the crap out of you for its sheer audacity in new interpretations of the Constitution, I don’t know hwy anything else should worry you. I agree, slopefarm, there is a political price to pay but I think no matter what happens the Dems and the President will be paying a political price- the Republicans will make sure of it and will stoop at nothing to regain power.
agreed, this is not good for the nation as a whole,
payback is a bitch as they say.
especially. especially when it’s something clearly not wanted by the majority of Americans and the Democratic majority in congress cannot get enough of it’s own members to vote yes, despite 300million dollar bribes.
