Rob, my dad’s mom did that. When she died and they went to clean out her house, they found piles and piles of $$$ under the mattress, the living room chair, behind the toilet and stuffed in housecoat pockets! Of course she was from an era when banks were not to be trusted…kinda like now! Ha!
The most awkwardly funny moment was when I was lying back on the massage table in my boxers and the female physiotherapist had to massage my inner thigh and asked me, “can you please move ‘that part’ to the other side”. I’m not even joking. That was the term she used.
she should keep her money under her mattress. why do people give their money to a bunch of paper pushing geeks to play around with is beyond me. (and yes i know you make interest off it, but still that interest is most of the time crapola). At least if you keep your money under your mattress you can get at it in case of a real emergency really fast. and by mattress i do not mean a literal mattress (duh), i mean just in a safe place. i.e. with no one elses grubby mitts man handling it.
I just found out first hand (so to speak) that my physiotherapist is not an Asian male. I couldn’t tell from the Chinese name on the referral from my Orthopedist. Had I known, I would have put on fresh underwear.
I sort of had the reverse of DIBS’ WonTon reaction.

**I’m horrible at math and financial things…my eyes are spinning right now!**
What is a money market fund?
Ok…Momma Snappy’s on the phone. Mutual funds are out of the question. She’s too afraid.
