“Biff is receiving accolades for quoting Norm Chomsky.”
Benson, I could also quote Howard Zinn, but I don’t want to be responsible for you blogacide. Chomsky is one of the greatest thinkers of our time. He’s a true genius.
Tybur, I have to agree with most of what you said.
Biff did not say millions of civilians were killed in Viet Nam, he said starting with VN. Big difference. I’d say starting with the end of WW2, in Japan. Not debating on whether dropping nuclear weapons twice on a country was the right or wrong thing to do, as that can be debated until the cows come home, but let’s not kid ourselves over the numbers of innocent people who died then, and soon after.
I also think it’s debatable as to whether or not American democracy is for everyone. History tells us that that does not seem to be true. I have problems with the “accept our ‘freedom’ or die” kind of conversion process.
I’m not saying she would’t have been cute full term but, I think it’s because she was a premie. Some of the giant babies (9lbs.+) in the nursery at the hospital looked like they were a bit embattled. Must be a much rougher ride for the poor thing when it’s so big.
THL, my cousin’s last baby came out at 12pounds and a few ounces. It was a rough delivery, and it showed on his face for a week or two. Yikes!

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled program…

Montrose, lemme guess: everything but the last line? 😉
It’s true DH…and I’ve unfortunately got the pics to prove it. Poor thing was a mini-ugmo.

THL, she’s adorable!
Brooklyn was so much better before all those Dutch gentrifiers moved in

Some faces even a mother can’t honestly love! My poor nephew was busted as all hell until he got to be about 18mos old. That was a rough 18 months.
