The nannies arent reporting it as income so they pay no taxes. But, they are not earning towards social security either, which may or may not be there to support them in their old age.
also it’s not fair cuz if the parents arent claiming taxes on these nannies, then sure as hell those nannies are not reporting their incomes thus not paying taxes themselves!!! i believe this is a MORAL OUTRAGE!
“parents who pay nannies off the books say they do it because paying the extra taxes is too difficult, while 38 percent say do it because they can’t afford to pay a salary and taxes”
I don’t get it. When YOU hire someone, YOU pay the taxes? Isn’t it deducted from their pay? I can understand setting up a payroll system as annoying, but can’t one just give them a 1099 at the end of the year and they pay their own taxes.
Cobble, you know I hope you get the gig, but, since it looks like we’re going to be on the same schedule I call the bathroom first in the morning!!! Either that, or you and BH have to put an en suite bathroom in my tent.
yes. my lamp! you can dance nake in front of it. it’s like a combination of a stripper pole, and mirrored balls. your inner bimbo will be so happy!
