  1. Hey Rob, here’s an exercise for you — core part of the 5 oclock club’s job search process — called the seven stories. When you are relaxed, write down about 25 stories from your life in which you accomplished something that gave you satisfaction — that YOU (not authorities necessarily) thought was great. It could be something from school, your hobbies, work, a project, anything that you thought in your heart of hearts was cool, fun, valuable, gave you joy, made a contribution to the world whatever. (This is going to put your brain on a different channel). THEN, out of those, pick the top seven. Read them over and really think about them. What you should find is it that these stories will be really be about what is uniquely YOU, what you LOVE, and where you felt that you shone the most. Find the common elements in the stories and it will give you a clue on where to focus your energy for looking for work. They have a very organized approach to the job search process – take a look http://www.fiveoclockclub.com.

  2. Question for photogs, and people who are good with computer photo programs – my pix on this site have been coming out fuzzy ever since I switched computers. It’s not the photos themselves, they are in focus when I open up my files. It’s something I’m (not) doing when I resize them to upload on the Brownstoner Movable Type site. They can’t be more than 500 pixels to upload here. I resize them on Corel Draw. Is it a resolution problem? Anyone got any ideas? It’s very frustrating to see my clear pix show up like real estate porn, through vaseline covered filters, I am a better photographer than that.

  3. “on second thought, i might actually apply for this census thing… it’s all about connections!!! who knows who’s door ill be knocking on!”

THAT’S IT *rob*! That’s the attitude you have to approach life with.
Do anything you can, take every opportunity. It just may lead to your path.

  4. “ooooh i dont know if i wanna do census work tho. you could get stuck having to knock door to door in the projects!”

    *rob*!!!!
Stop looking at all the negatives. YOU MAY NOT get stuck going to the projects. And if you do, look at it as an experience. You may learn something from it. If anything you’ll have stories to recant.
