Woohooooo!!! Congrats!
The background checks are always just a formality. Our unit just had checks done on us as part of the acquisition. Our new parents had the cheek to try and charge that back to us in our P&L – we just threw it back in their faces (since we already knew that we’re all dodgy as hell).
Yeah, you have to give for each event. Again, in the olden days, showers were just for fun gifts – e.g. a beautifully wrapped empty box w/ a card saying, “Something to wear on your wedding night” (LOL). Nowadays I’ve been to showers where the wishlist doesn’t have anything under $75.
