  1. Rob, there aren’t too many people commuting to and from work on a Sunday morning. It’ll likely just be us, some religious folks going to church and some shitfaced very late night partiers trying to make their way home. It’ll be quite an assortment of characters. A good street smarts education for the Champs.

  2. One of the schools on one of my daughter’s high school lists was the NY Harbor School, which will be on Governor’s Island starting in September–they will be in the first renovated building there. She’s going to Brooklyn Tech, but every time we tell a h.s. kid about the Harbor School they all say, cool! Take a boat to school!

Parents of younger kids, just wait until you get to the high school admissions process! College will be a cakewalk in comparison.

  3. biff,
yeah, that’s the other problem with the A train,

at Jay Street/Borough Hall choose the Far Rockaway train as opposed to the Lefferts Blvd. (that one ends up in Richmond Hill which is an interesting West Indian neighborhood but not visually striking as far as subway rides).

If you just plan to go over the water then the Far Rockaway or the Rockaway Park branch will do, since they both go over the water (the difference is that one goes Right into a really nice residential area near the beach and the other goes Left towards a not so nice high crime area).
If you want to take it all the way, take the Rockaway Park train, which means you will have to get off at Broad Channel station and wait for the “special” Rockaway Park train.
