lol, I just read your “pee in a plastic bottle”
post.
just curious, did you leave it under a fenced
off underpass like everyone in New York seems
to do?
seriously, what the hell is wrong with people,
I used to be like a feral cat as a kid, crawling
under apartment complex crawl-spaces and abandoned
basement laundromats and locked off garages.
The things you would find!
…and always the pee filled bottle to stink up
the place.
I’ll tell you one thing, New York used to have alot
more wild dogs back then, and they get nasty living in
weeds off garbage bag remnants.
Delepp, yes it is tough to match aesthetics with function.
Our society has now placed a great emphasis on what the kitchen looks like. People entertain differently from years ago, when the wife (or staff) did all the prep and then presented the meal in the dining room.
There is hope though, have you ever seen Smallbones of Devizes kitchens? They are flawless in execution. Amazing stuff. I drooled over their Lexington Ave showroom. I’m sure they could do a deco inspired kitchen quite well.
I like the part where you have to ‘wheel bikes in a single file’ on non-bike parts of the park. Who thinks of this sort of stuff? And thinks it needs to be codified? How about ‘respect your fellow citizens, stupid’
lesbiman, the kitchen looks like a couple of half decisions. I’m sure the original sink was gorgeous. Kitchens are tough, modern conveinces vs aesthetics.
Red Hook crawl sounds like fun. Buying a lobster roll and some coleslaw and a drink at Fairway, and eating it at the picnic tables overlooking the bay is not a bad way to spend time either.
DeLepp,
Just saw the SF house you posted. Very neat. But don’t you think the kitchen looks out of place with the rest of the house? Would be incredible with a more period look.
“Smallbones of Devizes”, designers?

DH, any thoughts on the ROTD? Have you been there?

No – never been. Steakhouses aren’t my thang
yes, rob, I believe you have to 12 (not 16) or under and ride a bike with wheels under 26″ (normal adult size). For a fun read:

wait, why are children allowed to ride their bikes on the sidewalk but adults are not? that is SERIOUSLY not fair.
