That’s ok, you must be frazzled with all
the stuff going on at your job.
I was gonna post earlier that it’s a
bold move on your part to leave a secure position,
but that’s what it takes to get where you
want to be and I wish you much success.
I never said women were treated well. As for Hussein’s involvement with terrorism- he is not the only one, yet we would never dream of invading Saudi Arabia and taking down their government. Yet guess where 18 of the 9-11 terrorists came from? And did we attack the Saudis for how they infantilize and treat their women? Not under Bandar Bush. We didn’t go after Libya. We didn’t attack Hamas or the PLO.
It isn’t my desire to make this about Bush in Iraq- the facts do that for me. But you and benson seem to think that Obama should be demonized because he hasn’t fixed Bush’s mistakes in the course of a year. That wither says you don’t think Bush made a mistake or you have unrealistic, politically based reasons for trashing Obama and it has nothing to do with what he has or has not accomplished. I just feel that you and benson ascribe all manner of bad things to Obama simply because he is a democrat.
It took me 6 years of watching the Bush administration run this country into the ground before I came to this level of anger. Bush and his cronies more than proved their ineptitude and malfeasance. Anyone expecting any succeeding president to be able to fix the crap of 8 years in one would have to be a fool and it looks like we are living in country full of fools.
But what angers me most is the lack of responsibility on the part of the Republican Party (not to mention those Dems who assisted) to admit they f*cked it up royally. Instead, from the second Obama was elected, the GOP started obstructing, insulting, and completely forgetting everything they had done. They have no credibility with me – they have become the party of Whoa, woe and no.

As I mentioned to m4l ^^^, I have only 2 days left at my current job, and yet I have to do all the work I was supposed to be doing for the past 9 months!!

I know you want to continue to make this about Bush in Iraq, but as I’ve already stated, it may not have been the best choice in retrospect from today’s view in terms of the years and casualties and billions spent, perhaps in 20 years it will be seen as a pivotal moment in changing the middle east. And I disagree that women were treated well, in particular Khurdish women who were sarin gassed along with their children by Saddam.
There was ample evidence of Iraq’s complicity in supporting terrorism in general however, remember , terrorism does not only mean al quaeda, it applies to hamas, hezbollah, islamic jihaad, islamic brotherhood to name just a few.
look up the name: Salman Pak, an you will see what I mean.
Legion- re Al Qaeda and Iraq- there was only the most spurios reference to Saddam supposedly having a meeting with Al Qaeda. It was debunked. There was never any evidence Al Qaeda was in Iraq, supported by Hussein or that any Iraqi was involved in 9-11. NONE.
