  1. Alexander McQueen was a very talented, but always controversial British fashion designer. The fashion press used to call him the “enfant terrible” of fashion for good reason. He used to stage very strange and elaborate fashion shows with lots of shock value, along with some clothes with more than a little shock value, themselves. He managed to insult just about everyone over the years, but he was immensely talented. Personally, I always felt he was one of those gay designers who had a very complicated love/hate relationship with, and about women. Some of his clothes were punishments of women, some were extremely flattering and celebratory of the female form. I always liked John Galliano’s clothing better, another flamboyant Brit who gained fame about the same time, in the early 90’s.

Still, it is sad, he basically lost both of his mothers in a very short span of time, and I guess he really couldn’t deal. Very sad to be so consumed by grief. Some people can handle it, some can’t.

  2. “**Expert, get yer mind outta the gutter!**”

Only if you get your mind outta the glitter!

Oh Snappy you disappoint me. I thought we could watch oldies all night long.
Bette Davis is one of favorite actresses. Am I gay?

  3. I saw something super weird to me – a leg warmer thingie right around the angle that looks like a scarf that’s wrapped around the angle and has 3 buttons to hold it in place. And yes, it looked dirty – ie probably splashed a lot with the dirty wet snow.

I was wondering how the F is that better than the usual leg warmer thingie

  4. That’s great, DH!

Expert, you want to make an appt to go see that HOTD this weekend (Sat 11 or any time Sunday) and take me and Montrose with you? I can’t credibly claim to be looking, but if you’re renting and prequalified and looking, obviously I’m sure they’d be happy to show it to you.

Someone in the thread yesterday said it’s already in contract so we might have to move quickly.

See yesterday’s thread for more info — those estimates of $300,000 to fix it are sheer nonsense.
