Interview Question: So I had 3 interviews this morning. I’m still sick as a dog, but I felt fine until the end of the last one; I think I was on my game; and they all seemed to go well. Now I need to quickly send email thank yous. How complicated and how different from each other do you guys think they need to be?
Last night I started a night class at NYU. Walking down W. 4th St. nearly everyone on the sidewalk turned and went into one or other NYU building. the number of 30- and 40-somethings heading to their classes was unbelievable. Something someone once told me seemed so true: “Everybody’s taking a night class.”
Then afterward I was walking through that long tunnel entrance to the W. 4th St. station and ran into a friend. I’ve been in Manhattan twice in the past two months so I thought that was quite a coincidence. She began telling me how she’d recently slept with a guy who was very well endowed and now she wanted to break up with her boyfriend, but she felt guilty about it. “There’s love there, but with this other guy there’s fireworks.”
Could you imagine an express subway that goes from Rockaway to Manhattan in 25 minutes? Beach front Real Estate in the Rockaways would go through the roof! The “Irish Riviera” of my childhood might become the real Riviera!

Huh? Have you been to far Rockaway around Beach 19th – Beach 40th. There are at least 1 reported shooting each day! Look up crime stats if you don’t believe me. If you think a 30 minute ride to Manhattan will magically change that, we’re not currently residing on the same planet.
Joe, sometimes when reading your comments, I am shocked that you had a lucrative job in finance prior to your current job. No offense but maybe brush up on your Fin 101 and eco 101.
There is a lot more than goes into property value than just an easy access to transportation. Newark is a couple of train stops from Penn Station (Pain Station) and you can pick up a brownstone there for 100K. You don’t see anyone running there from BK do you?
commute on Amtrak to Center city is about hour and 10 minutes and it takes me about that to get to work BUT I pay $89 a month for an unlimited metrocard while Amtrak pass is about $1,000 a month. That also goes into factoring you know.
Joe, Philly is about 85 miles from NYC anbd it takes 1 hour and 15-20 minutes on Amtrak.
I don’t think the availability of additional transit is going to have any effect on Brooklyn properties

BTW, etson is due back today, so he should be here before the storm, but it’s not like we need him for his going away party, do we?

Yes, and people started “imagining” the Second Avenue subway line around 40 years ago!!!!

I’ve actually taken the little blue pill. You can get some amazing results for a very small amount, like 10 mg.
Do not take it if you are on other medicines without consulting a doctor or at least reading the contra-indications first.
joe, do you really WANT those types of people infesting that part of brooklyn!?!?
*rob*
