Something tells me that your friend is not quite so “in love”…maybe she is realizing there is something more for her out there.

I’m a concierge, not check in, I help people find their way around a strange city and make suggestions for dinner, nightlife, sightseeing, Broadway shows, etc. And to any Restaurateurs out there, I take bribes, just kidding.
tho maybe being cheap on valentines day is a good thing. my grandmother used to insist on getting the LARGEST heart shaped box of chocolates sold from my grandfather (to which she promptly ate the entire thing in one sitting) and the most gaudy tacky giant pair of gold hoop earrings imagineable. :-/ it had to be gold because any other metals made her break out in rashes (i never believed that part tho!!)
Many of our public-works projects were built during the Great Depression: the Triborough Bridge, Marine Park and the rehabilitation of Central Park (which was rag-tag by the early 1920’s), the Prospect Park Zoo to name just a few.
China is focusing its stimulus prgram on just such projects.

omg – I just looked at the arverne-by-the sea website a few weeks ago!!!
I like them alot, plus being close to the ocean is great
however, we have a friend who grew up in the rockaways and he said it’s super desolate out there without a lot of stores and amenities and it can be verry sketchy esp at night in certain areas
Then I did a hopstop search from my office to the address of Arverne and it would take me 1 hour and 35 mins commute on the F to the A or something like that – ouch!
