Before the War he learned German to read German medical texts, which were considered the best at that time. Bruce was the kind of man who never gave up- in the last few years he had a triple bypass, and lost both his legs to diabetes but it didn’t stop him. Everything was a challenge to do better. The first time we went up to see him after his second leg operation it took all we had not to start bawling as he worked out in the rehab gym. I’m just going to share a bit of what she wrote this morning I’m sure she won’t mind. Maybe his passing is a small thing i nthe Universe, but in the course of his life, he was written large .
“I picture him walking with his two small kids through the hills of our property in Gilbertsville, with my Mom, our dog, and the joys of life stretching into the horizon. That’s not a bad thing. Not at all.”
