benson, That attitude is such a freaking cop out! And a perfect example of what we need less of in our government!! I’m really shocked by that statement.
yeah, no ‘s in cliches , and replace “repead” with repeat. my spelling is suckish, as I’ve said before.
anyway,
what the hell was wrong about the Virginia legislature’s house as a forum for a Republican response?
I thought it was a brilliant move, as well as putting all the American of different races behind the Governor,
Yes, there are minorities that support Republicans although the Democrats would have you believe otherwise.
and yes, the dems are always positioning people for the camera to reflect a “rainbow” of people.
That legislature house was designed by Thomas Jefferson.
Well, Legion, since we are redefining statistical numbers here, Bush left us with an even bigger deficit than previously thought because they conveniently left out the ginormous costs associated with running a couple of wars for the last 6 years or so before Obama took office. A gazillion here, a gazillion there, it doesn’t really matter, except that the country had an enormous deficit. But even opposing economists mostly agree that the short term spending of the stimulous plans, including TARP, were necessary to zap a failing economy. As distasteful as it was, it was necessary.
I’m still waiting to hear what your side comes up with as an alternative to what he’s attempting to do. “No, no, no, and it won’t work” don’t cut it.
I agree, IJ, it’s an affect. “I’m too rich to care. Look at me, all laissez-faire’.
I see it all the time in CH here, the goal is to look as young, ‘je ne sais quoi’, I just rolled out of bed, but wearing the most expensive jeans, casual shoes or jacket imaginable. I don’t get it.
I give Scalia and Thomas TREMENDOUS credit for blowing off the whole thing. The State of the Union address, and the follow-up response by the opposing party, have become nothing more than stage-managed spectacles. They have become devoid of any substantive meaning, in much the same way as political party conventions.
Up until Woodrow Wilson, the president used to send the Congress a written report. WW was the first to make a speech. LBJ was the first to move it to prime time, and each one has subsequently become more and more meaningless as time moves on.
I hope that Scalia and Thomas were kicking back and having a few brews. At least they would be doing something valuable with their time.
Legion;
No point in debating his speech. President Obama is basically “doubling down” on his initiatives on health care, cap-and-trade, etc.
The people will decide, come this November. I have a hunch how it will go, but only time will tell.
“ROTFLMMFAO. Have you ever had sex with him???”
Oh, dear God, NOOOO!!!
HAVE YOU HAD SEX WITH HIM, DAVE???
(He’s not really my type)
