Can I take you back to the Jehovah Witnesses and historic preservation topic for a second?
Here is Jersey City they have taken over and completely restored a very famous historical theater The Stanley. The most incredible feature of this theater is that above the seating is an enormous expanse of smooth plaster arching 85 feet over the auditorium providing the Atmospheric style ceiling, complete with twinkling stars and clouds slowly drifting across, courtesy of the Bronkfort Brenograph projector.
I’ve included a link to the photos of the theater and also a link to the write up of it in Cinema Treasures. In fact the JW’s are so proud of the renovation that they actually give free (non-preachy) tours. They even turn on the twinkling stars and cloud machine during the tour. The theater itself is literally a block from the Journal Square Path Train stop so I’d really encourage people to go take the tour and then go back across the street to the Loews Theater that has also been restored (parts are still being completed) and hosts classic movies, weddings, and concerts.
The photos are here slides 1-17 are The Stanley and slides 18-54 are of The Loews:
I should also note the The Loews was NOT restored by the JW’s. It was done through volunteers, private trusts, and public donations.
THL – There’s the same kind of theatre in Richmond, VA. Really quite wonderfully restored too. I used it for annual meetings for several corporations.

Arkady, would you go and check on mine?
First time this winter that I’ve had to take down my bird feeders because of the wind.
Rain, I don’t mind.
Shine, the world looks fine.
I can show you that when it starts to rain,
Everything’s the same.

Who needs a coffee maker? Don’t you just spoon the granules out of the jar and pour boiling water onto them?
