Legion…the best Vietnamese I’ve ever had has been in Bangkok and, of course, Vietnam.
There is however a very good Vietnamese place (maybe two) in Philadelphia. Philly has a much higher % of vietnamese in its two “Chinatowns.” The one down bu Washington is almost 100% Vietnamese with a lot of banh Mi sandwich shops and a few decent restaurants.
But “Vietnam” on North 11th street is excellent and a very nice place to dine in.
As a % of the restaurants, Philly has much better Chinese food in its race Street Chinatown neighborhood than does Manhattan…fewer places in total by far but of them, a much higher % of really good places.
oh Gem, I wish I could tell you where it is. I have a really bad sense of direction and remembering where anything is. I always refer to my partner to these things as he remembers everything (location wise). I could walk on the same block 10x and it’ll look new to me.
I’ll ask him.
But I’m warning you, it’s nothing fancy. No waiter service. You order at the counter after looking to see what they have behind the glass and take the food on a tray to a table.
DH- I don’t think the NJ law for medical marijuana is as loosey goosey as CA’s. I think you actually have to have a serious medical issue. cancer, glaucoma, etc. This outlines some of the parameters pretty well:
ROFLMAO!
NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report) – One day after announcing that she would be a commentator on the Fox News Channel, the network revealed that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s appearances would be simulcast in English.
I think Dibs is right
Mexico has great use of flavoring, however many other Latin American countries haven’t gotten the spicing down pat quite as well.
a co-worker of mine came back from Honduras and said while everything is super fresh it lacked seasoning and was very bland and repetitive

A good friend of mine growing up who happened to be Indian used to say Thai food was nothing but Indian food with some peanut butter in it…

CGar – Tuesdays I have to do alt side for a neighbor. Definitely 2 spaces for a corp. communication.
My faves are French & Indian – not together.
I agree, MM should fund her schooling by writing a book. Needs a big advance & book should gibe w/ thesis. Who’s in publishing?
