And, having been to bangkok so many times, I am a bit of a Thai food snob. I have yet to have any really truly authentic Thai food here in NYC with the exception of two places…one was on east 61st and is now closed (the owner died) and the other was Bangkok 54…across the street from Studio 54 but I haven’t been there in many, many years.
Anything “Asian Fusion” I stear clear of. it’s usually overpriced CRAP.
There’s a great Indian/Chinese place in Queens.
Chinese food with Indian spices.
The owner is Chinese from India. Apparently there’s a small population of Chinese living in India.
Jackson Hts has great Indian food as well!
Flushing has the best Chinese food. Jackson heights has the best Mexican, Colombian, Guatemalan, etc, etc, etc Latin American food.
The one on East 61st was called Kodnoi. It was the best I’ve ever had here.
DH,
…do I smell the Devil’s lettuce somewhere in here!
ExpTex,
…yeah, there’s an explosion of Asian cuisine in Northern Queens, from Jackson Heights to Flushing.
lol THL – if that happens i’d step it up to the opiates! 😉
