I’m much mor pragmatic than that- political correctness is a catch-all for anyone who feels like not dealing with real details. But let’s call it like it is- the Bush administration did a half ass job of security. Not well thought out, not really effective- more about saber-rattling than building a good policy. Yes, well- he’s gone- but anyone who wishes to rip Obama on antiterrorism is looking at the wrong person to blame. And you also err in thinking that we will always catch every terrorist- not while humans man checkpoints. No system will be perfect- that’s reality.
On the other hand, the Bush administration caved on putting in the new technology full body scanners because people thought they were too invasive. Had Bush had real guts he would have said, tough. We’re protecting you from terrorists. Never happened.
Israel asks the same questions of everyone. What Hikind wants is “ethnic” profiling- by group. There’s a difference. (you can refer to DWB in NJ for background information).
And now I will give poor DH a break and let you macho guys talk and mingle amongst yourselves 🙂
