and yet under Bush, not one terroist threat got through after 9/11.
thus far, under Obama and his “criminal law” approach to the war against radical islamists, we have had a US Major kill american soldiers on an army base, we have had reality show dimwits getting up close and personal uninvited and we have had a terrorist partially detonate a body bomb on a plane.
it’s not about Bush, it’s about protecting the country. Obama took an oath in January, to protect the constitution and the American people, he needs to step it up.
1. I kinda sorta secretly like the smackdowns between Legion, etson, dave, bxgrl on some of the subjects cause I get to see two different points of view and learn something new from time to time. (when I have time to read through it that is, like today).
2. I am totally digging Montrose take over. It a new twist on Brownstoner and I am loving all the topics (I will be emailing Mr. B to say the same).
3. I had a one way ticket from Amsterdam with sis about 2 years ago and let me tell you, I was asked a whole bunch of questions as to why one way and where we are coming from and the guy seemed very trained. He was looking for my reactions and wouldn’t take his eyes off my eyes to see for any weird eye deviations or movements. I thought their airport security was top notch (more so than TSA). That’s why I was surprised to hear that this was a flight from Amsterdam that this happened to. I guess some are better trained that others.
denton, I can see that you don’t know enough about gays to figure out which one is the top and which one is the bottom by outward, social appearances and personality.
Legion, not me, but it expresses my views. There are many ways to profile, as the letter indicates. I’m just totally exasperated by the government’s typical close-the-barn-door after-the-fact response and the total lack of common sense. I’m glad the TSA was forced to start dropping its new rules within the 24 hours due to the enormous push back from the public. The stupidity of some of the new rules! And it doesn’t matter what party is in power. The overreaction would’ve been exactly the same.
