  1. “I’m not thrilled with all Obama has or has not done, but I know its too early to tell.

CarGar- I agree but as they say- it’s the squeaky wheel. :(”

bxgrl, I agree it’s far too soon to write Obama off yet, but I’m disappointed with him in his first year. And I also agree about the squeaky wheel, but ya gotta remember that those squeaky wheels represent the extremes of each party and do NOT reflect the views of most members of their parties.

  2. I don’t know if I dare announce this….

My partner in Philly just told me that John McCain is on the cover of the Union League Club of Philadelphia’s monthly magazine as this year’s Gold medal Award winner.

Does anyone other than legion want to come down for the ceremony????????

  3. So I’m registered with CareerBuilder, and I’ve expressed my preferences (only 3 allowed for daily email updates) for financial services, banking and legal jobs. And I just get an email urging me to apply for a job as a “Certified Athletic Trainer”, ROFL! Where to begin?

  4. “President’s don’t get on the job training.”

WTF? And you think Bush had the right training to do the job??? That’s the most LAUGHABLE statement I’ve read from you EVER legion!! Get a grip man!!

Tell me honestly, what experience did Bush have. I’m dumbfounded that you could even suggest that he had, in any way shape or form, a better work/job history to lead this country. Outrageous!!

    cobble,

what I meant by my statement was that President’s don’t get a free pass on responsibility for a year as they break in their oval office seat. Truman was handed a world war and had to make a decision to drop two atomic bombs. Nixon was handed a war started by the previous two administrations and finally resolved to get out, he didn’t complain. REagan was handed a hostage crisis and 10,000 nuclear tipped ICBM’s aimed across America oh, and worse economic numbers than Obama had to deal with. The president’s are always handed a mess no matter if it’s internal or external, they get no extra credit for beer summits and nice gestures.

  5. had me horking on a daily basis and nearly made me vote for Sarah Palin and that old guy she ran with.

Agreed, Cgar. I should have voted for McCain. At least he is the one with the balls today to address our banking problem by suggesting that we bring back glass-steagall as a possible solution.

OB has been silent so far and doesn’t have anything to say about financial reform so we don’t get a repetition of 2008. It is either a sign of weakness or fear of the banking lobby or he does not care a flying f*ck about the little guys who voted him in.

Maybe it is time for him and his wall street lapdogs, geither and summers, to go

  6. “Do you really want to defend the NYTimes with Maureen Dowd and Paul Krugman?”

Actually, Legion, Dowd (of whom I’m no fan since I have yet to forgive her for relentlessly attacking Hillary) and Krugman have both been tough on Obama. If you want to talk about Times columnists who generally bend over for Obama, I’ll give you Bob Herbert and Frank Rich.
