When your project is as vast as the United States AN the World, I think project management may take a little more time. I think cobble, Arkady and myself are a little more patient and realistic as to what anyone can accomplish in under a year. I’m not thrilled with all Obama has or has not done, but I know its too early to tell.
CarGar- I agree but as they say- it’s the squeaky wheel. 🙁
love you Legion, but you need to stop looking at everything through right wing glasses and read a few more news sources. Left wing tainted media? Put Rush Limbaugh in the same room with the Gray Lady and tell me who sounds more sane and reasoned. (It won’t be Rush.). Fox news and talk radio live by labels, not facts. You glossed over the failures of the Bush Administration- the ones that set up a very flawed structure which Obama has to deal with. You call Obama names (Savior in Chief?) but nary a label on Bush. You show vast contempt for those of us who disagree with you politically and you wonder why we argue with you? I don’t care that you disagree- you’re entitled, it’s still a free country and the fact we can openly disagree with each other and our government is a wonderful thing. But you have to accept he fact that this is the way democracy works. You may think Democrats have not said a word about Obama’s flaws- you’re very wrong. On the other hand, unlike the Republicans, Democrats are not plotting how to destroy him or the Republicans. You can’t complain about the lack of partisanship when you’ve don’t everything in your power to make it fail.
(Sorry again, DH. Us liberal types just can’t be trusted 🙂

bxgrl,
ok, let’s take these one at a time;
-I don’t get my news from Rush Limbaugh, you said that.
I read varied sources including NY dailies and the WSJ and I look at many sources on the internet before I make up my mind on a particular issue. Do you really want to defend the NYTimes with Maureen Dowd and Paul Krugman? two of the most one sided shills this side of postage stamp?
-I already named two failures of the Bush administration. I don’t hold him up on a pedestal.
-contrary to what you say, I don’t have a “vast contempt” for those on the left, only those that would believe that their’s must be the right and the only point of view because it is based on their emotional aspect rather than emperical fact. There is ultimately a western tradition of logic, and one which I respect. Too many on the left agree to ignore this out of hand when it comes to politics; and thus you get proclamations like the one by the homeland security chief recently that “everything worked well” after a guy blew up his underwear.
-you say that Republicans are out to destroy the president. I see no evidence of that. We have an opinion, and it will be heard, even though Republicans have been excluded from every major policy issue from the get go in January. With this administration, it’s become personal to crush opposing views, just look at Joe Lieberman for an example.
-How have I done everything to “make it fail” when I am pointing out the obvious lack of effectiveness in keeping us secure? would you rather I keep quiet as my government continues to repeat mistakes of the past when solutions are readily at hand.
bxgrl, you are sweet too but all the sugar in the world won’t keep our security from going sour if we continue to pursue political correctness as a policy against terrorism.
“Bush could have done better on Katrina and he failed completely on the border/sovereignty issue. I never thought of him as great but he did have a certain determination and kept us secure after 9/11.”
Could have done better? C’mon, Legion. Shirley, you can reach across the aisle better than that? (No homo back at you)

No, but we are still feeling the effects of some of the things they ‘done’.
